Service Description
๐ฉบ Mindful Self-Compassion for Women in Medicine A six-week course to quiet the inner critic, honour your limits, and reconnect with what matters most. Women in medicine often carry invisible expectations โ to care more, do more, and never let anything slip. Many live with constant self-judgment, people-pleasing, and the emotional weight of caregiving, all while navigating systems that rarely make space for their humanity. This evidence-based course offers a trauma-informed, polyvagal-aware space to shift those patterns and learn a more sustainable, empowering way to care โ for others and for yourself. ๐ What weโll explore each week: ๐น Week 1 โ What is Self-Compassion? Unpack why so many women in medicine struggle to turn care inward โ and how self-compassion can be a strong, motivating force for change. ๐น Week 2 โ The Science & Nervous System Learn how polyvagal theory, empathetic resonance, and vicarious trauma affect your system โ and how self-compassion helps you regulate from within. ๐น Week 3 โ Taming the Inner Critic Shift from perfectionism and self-doubt to a more supportive, empowering internal voice that encourages without pushing you past your limits. ๐น Week 4 โ Meeting Emotions with Care Develop skills to stay present with difficult emotions without suppressing or being overwhelmed by them. ๐น Week 5 โ Boundaries, Burnout & Overgiving Explore how gendered expectations, invisible labour, and moral pressure drive burnout โ and learn to say yes and no from a place of integrity. ๐น Week 6 โ Living Aligned with What Matters Reclaim clarity and connection to your values โ not the ones expected of you, but the ones that truly sustain you. This is for women who are ready to include themselves in the circle of care โ with clarity, courage, and compassion. Participants will receive a certicate of completion for Continuing Professional Development.
